The Manifestation Of Swollen Gums
Gingivitis can be identified by red or swollen gums. There’s a strong relationship between gum disease and bad breath, because volatile sulfur compounds are needed to initiate the penetration of dangerous toxins below the gum line to start periodontal disease. Total oral hygiene requires a comprehensive plan to care for the entire mouth, including the teeth and gums, but also including all of the tissue inside the mouth. Good oral hygiene is the best prevention against gingivitis and bad breath because it removes the plaque that causes the disorder. The teeth should be brushed at least twice daily and flossed gently at least once per day. For people who are prone to gingivitis, brushing and flossing may be recommended after every meal and at bedtime.
